B.Tech through Lateral entry is quite good because you compete with the students who are XIIth passed and not so trained technically. After a Diploma, what we call Polytechnic you get admission directly in the second year of B.Tech in the relevant stream in which you did your Diploma. B.Tech through lateral entry is a course where a Diploma student or a student who has done B.Sc. Can get admission directly in the second year or the third semester of the engineering course. It is good to get admission as lateral entry as 1st year consists of general subjects and topics which are less useful in future years of engineering.

Lateral entry is a way through which you can get admission into 2nd year and save one year of repetition, especially when changing college/university after 1st year of study.

B.Tech through lateral entry means after completing Diploma which is of three year in any relevant field you can take admission in B.Tech 2nd year directly. Main advantage is that you have already gained knowledge about the field in which you want to pursue like computer Science, Mechanical, Electronic etc. , Aravali college Faridabad is best college in Delhi-ncr which provides admission through lateral entry.

B.Tech through lateral entry is same as B.Tech after intermediate. If you want to do B.Tech through lateral entry, you must have a 3-year Diploma of engineering in the branch you want to take, admission in B.Tech.

B.Tech lateral entry means that you can directly get admission into second year without doing first year in that college. Suppose, you have done 3 year Diploma, and you want to do engineering in any branch, then if you apply for engineering, you can directly get admitted into second year without doing first year. This is the meaning of lateral entry.

    What does lateral entry mean?
In some situations when a person is taking admission to a college, he/she may enter at a later stage for example someone would maybe start college from the second year of the actual course mainly due to two reason- their high school structure was that of a Diploma format rather than the normal high school format (12th class in India) and also if they're changing colleges mid-course to go to another college offering the same course provided that both the colleges teach the same stuff in the elapsed time. Such students are called lateral entry students.
