Hi, both of these are closely related and interdependent functions of the NEWS industry. Mass communication deals with the procedure of conveying or transmitting a message to the general population through media like radio, newspapers, magazines, television, internet and so on. However, journalism is concerned with the compilation and transmission of news through the print media and electronic media. And based on the different mediums, the field of journalism can be divided into three broad categories namely the print (I. e. the newspapers and magazines), electronic (I. e. T. V. and radio) and online journalism. So based on your intere

    Hi
Journalism in a broad sense is all about news reporting whereas mass communication deals with different mediums of media to spread messages, information or entertain masses. Reporting in newspapers, magazines, T. V. , radio or the digital mediums usually comes under journalism. There are many universities which would offer scholarship. But you need a college which would cater to your all round development. The name that comes to me first is LPU which carefully nurtures its students and propels them to the pinnacle of success so that their hard work culminates to a point which would be the cause of envy of many. LPU has various course

Mass Communication = Communicating to Masses. Choosing a channel to send a message to a multitude number of people.
Journalism is one example of mass communication.
Just like advertising, public relations, films, radio (programs), television (programs) etc. are other examples.
I think the confusion arises from the fact that the two are pronounced in one breath - journalism and mass communication, especially in colleges and institutions, for that field of study.
PS - From a journalism & mass communication graduate.
