Being an alumni let me share with you valuable information in regards to B.Sc. Agriculture at LPU. LPU Becomes the First Private University to be Granted ICAR Accreditation. By Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. B.Sc. (Hons. ). Agriculture deals with well planned on-field implementation and testing of basic concepts in production, yield enhancement disease resistant and better shelf life of food and flora. Student may be given an option to go for 4 weeks study tour to USA/ European countries or any other country or option to join partner/ receiving university abroad for a semester as decided by the University subject to conditions. The programme outcomes include Knowledge Enhancement, Professional Enhancement, Entrepreneurship Skills, Communication & Extension Skills, Team Work, Educational Leadership, Data Handling, Ethics and Computational Skills. Dear Anuj, The placement record of the agriculture course in LPU is really very good. The highest package of this programme at LPU is 19.25 LPA and the average package is 3.4 LPA. LPU students got top packages from leading Agriculture companies. Students of School of Agriculture are placed in Dhanuka, HDFC Bank, Reliance retail, Syngenta, Bio SEED Nestle, Smur Agro, VLCC, Virbac, Sanra organics, and many more. LPU is the first private university that got approval by ICAR. The best thing I like about LPU about placement is, they provide placement classes to all the students from the very first year who opt for the placement. With the help of this, they can prepare themselves for placements till the pre-final year because the companies will start visiting for the recruitment of students from a pre-final year. Some of the students go for internships also in their final year. LPU received an Employability award by Aspiring Mind in 2020 for best placement Institute in India. LPU is a first private University having ICAR accreditation. ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) co-ordinates agricultural education and research in the country under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture (government. of India). LPU School of Agriculture has been granted accreditation by the National Agricultural Education Board of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, making it the first and only private University in the country to receive the accreditation. LPU offers course in B.Sc (Hons. ) Agriculture, M.Sc Ag. (Genetics & Plant Breeding), M.Sc Ag. (Agronomy) and M.Sc Ag. I have spent 4 years in lpu for my studies and I have seen that the agriculture department is one of the finest departments. Well-equipped and well grown from the last couple of years. Moreover, LPU is the first private university got ICAR approval. LPU holds a stellar record in placements as big brands like VLCC Healthcare Ltd. , Ankur Seeds, HDFC, Dhanuka Agritech Ltd. , Ebro India Pvt. Ltd. , etc. Have visited for campus recruitment at packages upto 4.5 LPA. In addition to this, students can attain positions as Agriculture Inspectors, Agriculture Officers, POs, Food Quality Inspectors, Agriculture Development Officer, Horticulture Development Officer, Technical Assistants and administrative posts in government and non-government organizations. Over and above, I also came to know that recently, LPU has been ranked in top 80 amongst all private and government institutes by NIRF, MHRD, GOI which shows the quality being delivered at the institute.
