Residential Facility at Lovely Professional is commendable and has a homely atmosphere which the students usually miss when they are far away from their hometown. The university is committed to zero tolerance to ragging, alcohol, smoking, drugs and disciplinary misconduct. Automated turnstile gates with biometric machines regulate entry and exit to residential facility. Talking about security, there are more than 4000 CCTV cameras which keeps an eye over all the happenings in the campus. Moreover, there are more than 400 security officials always present to help and secure the safety of everyone. LPU security team includes experienced ex-military men and women. Hello, I myself being a hostler here in Lovely Professional University, can say that hostel life in LPU is pretty amazing. As I have stayed in hostels earlier, I am very much impressed with the facilities that we get here in LPU. To me the infrastructure plays an important role, so the environment, the surroundings that I get in here are peaceful. There are 6 hostel blocks for girls. 1, 2,3 and 4 blocks are attached, and are like a mini society in itself. We have a wonderful garden along with two basketball courts. There are 23 open gym under the hostel. Along with that, there are parlors for personal grooming. Canteens to have variety of cuisines, and mess for all who have opted for mess at the starting of the semester. The hostel life here is secure and safe. Some may feel the hostel timings are too strict but that is actually to maintain discipline in the university, which not only helps now but will help in inculcating discipline in life in future. The separate hostels for boys and girls and canteens and mess that are seperate for both. The campus area around the hostel is pretty homely and the rooms too are comfortable. The apartment-style area for living with a shared lounge and bathroom makes it easy for students to live in. TV area, laundry, and Wi-Fi facility at all times give an edge to the hostels of LPU. The hostels are spacious and provide a home away from home experience. There are separate buildings for boys and girls and canteens and mess where the entire hostel family dines together. TV area and the sports facilities are all there. Zero Ragging/ Zero Discrimination: Nobody is ragged at LPU, This word actually doesn't exist here. There is complete secularism in the LPU hostel life as you will find seniors and juniors treated similarly at the Campus and even at the Hostel Outdoor Games/ Indoor Games/Gym: There are so many places at Campus for outdoor games and as well as indoor games. Some are campus properties and some are vendor properties (game parlours) where you have to pay. Everything is fun wherever you fit in yourself. Hostels are perfect for your stay at LPU. I had taken feedback from both type of students residing in Hostels of LPU and independent PGs, and per discussion both have there pro and cons: Hostels in LPU: Lot of Secure and Safe ecosystem LPU have good university. Hospital with Doctors and Ambulance availability for 24*7 Flexible and pocket friendly Mess menu from North to South Indian dishes, With option of Quitting Mess and having food from 300+ food kiosk You will be able to use Central library at night. Many times during fests, outsiders are not allowed after 6. CCTV cameras and card punching system will locate you anywhere within the Campus. Better exposure to cultural activities, intra hostel competitions etc. Access to sport grounds in case you are a sports freak No hassle of cooking your own food. Cons of Hostel life can be considered as Pros of PG Life, which comes with its own degree of Freedom: Alcohol, tobacco products and non vegetarian food is strictly not allowed. Late entry after 8 is allowed but the guards will inform the concerned hostel warden who in turn will call your parents. Limited food options from kiosks or hostel mess. If you are a girl, then you have to enter the hostel at 6 pm every day. If you are a girl, you must have permission from your parents while moving out of the University premises. Healthcare facility may be of a concern as limited number of doctors and specialists are present. A visiting family member or friend is not allowed to stay in your room. You will have to book a room either outside or in the university hotel. You will have to share room with someone you don't know. Sometimes they may exaggerate your electricity bills. The guards will infringe upon your privacy on certain occasions.

Hi Raghav, Being a alumni of Lovely Professional University, I would like to answer this question. I have lived in hostel and I hope this will help you get a clear picture of the kind of life a hosteler leads at the Lovely Professional University. The first thing that almost parents are concerned about is the safety. And LPU is one campus that takes security of all their students very seriously. There are automated biometric machines that keep a record of each entry and exit in the hostel. Next comes food, the mess here is super hygienic and provides us with quality food four times a day. You will get each and every facility inside the campus like Physiotherapy Clinic and Hospital with resident doctors and ambulances to provide medical assistance to students, Power backup for light load only (not for AC/Geyser/Air cooler),24 hours security. , Laundry Services (optional on payment basis), hygienic and nutritious vegetarian meals (optional), Hostel counsellors ( solve the problems of students in context of family issues, studies, home sickness etc. ), Laundry facility, Gym facility to remain fit. Mess food are all same in all hostels even all hostel mess follows same menu, whether it is boys hostel mess girls hostel mess. So don't get confused for choosing hostel and mess. In LPU, Students of various communities and religion, stay together in a hostel. Thus helps them to know about the various cultures of different regions. They develop a sense of unity in diversity and broaden their outlook. Thy learn the lesson of co-operation. Overall, my experience at the LPU hostel has been delightful thus far. I look forward to explore more and ensure that I avail all the benefits provided to us.
