    Although every branch of Psychology offers some sort of good career but still, people are showing more orientation towards Clinical Psychology. That is really a very huge subject and it turns your career onto the path of growth. I would prefer Clinical Psychology because of its utility in this modern stressful era. Clinical psychology takes general psychology a step further. While psychologists study the fundamentals of mental behaviors and processes, clinical psychologists apply these principles in real-world situations.     Psychology is the study of human behavior and mental characteristics.
    The major areas of Psychology are -
    1) Clinical Psychology- Clinical psychology is concerned with assessment and treatment of mental illness and Abnormal behavior. Clinical psychologists can work as therapists for people having a psychological disorder.
    2) Counseling Psychology- Counseling psychologists focus on people with adjust problems and not on people having psychological disorders. They can be employed in Colleges, Schools, NGOs and work with a concerned group of people.

    Psychology is a good career if:
    You are ready to learn or study further, after your graduation.
    You are ready for opportunities abroad (USA, Europe (some countries), Australia have more demand for these career options. If you study Masters there, then it's an added advantage.
    You are ready to take teaching jobs, not stick with doctor professions.
    (Many foreign nations providing excellent salary package for teaching professionals in psychology.)

    Also, you can appear for UPSC exam, while choosing psychology as an optional, which is giving good score for civil service aspirants.

    Clinical Psychology is a preferable area as once you become a clinical psychologist, you are open to do formal assessments, guiding and counselling of students. You can be associated with many schools and corporates for psychometric test etc. Its highly paying.
