Which college is better for B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering: VJTI or CoEP?

Hi dear, COEP was established in 1854 and VJTI was established in 1887. Both are the oldest institutes in Asia. Both are government. Autonomous institutes. Course format and material are almost the same. Marginal difference is there in the syllabus. The campus of COEP is bigger and more advanced as compared to VJTI. More facilities and hostel available both for boys and girls. VJTI being in heart of Mumbai city, there is a shortage of hostel, which is being worked upon. In terms of infra, COEP is superior. Placement statistics are very much satisfactory in both colleges I. e. almost 100% in all the branches. It will always be suggested to opt for COEP and keep VJTI as a second option as suggested by me being a VJTIan myself. Suggested this through my personal experience.

Hello, We all know that College of Engineering, Pune and VJTI, Mumbai are the top most colleges in Maharashtra, while both of these colleges are autonomous. So they have little bit change in syllabus of mechanical engineering. The campus of COEP is far better than VJTI College, COEP has got big campus and having more facilities to the students like good hostel for boys and girls etc. Both of these colleges are old but in terms of infrastructure COEP is good. In VJTI there are fewer facilities for the students and hostel is also not good as compare to COEP’s hostel. For academic study both the colleges have great and experienced faculty members and adequate labs and equipment for performing practical's and good drawings halls for the mechanical. No doubt both the colleges have 100% placements for their students and training and placement cell of COEP is very supportive. Coming to the conclusion, I think COEP is always a better choice for B.Tech in mechanical engineering because of its campus, infrastructure, training and placement and other facilities. First choice is COEP and second is VJTI.
