Which college is better from all perspectives: SRM or LPU?

LPU ranks amongst the Top 200 universities of the world as per the prestigious Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021, which assess universities against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In 2021 rankings, only three Indian universities have made to the list of Top 200 in the World. LPU has outshined various institutions like IITs, NITs, state and central universities across India and has ranked high on parameters of Affordable and Clean Energy, and Decent Work and Economic Growth. The National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked the management and pharmacy programmes of LPU in 2019. The management programmes of LPU were given the 52nd rank while the pharmacy courses were ranked at the 27th position. Campus Without a doubt, it's a beautiful place for education with a serene environment. The university campus spreads over 600 acres in boundary on the outskirts of Jalandhar and houses over 30,000 students. The campus has all the facilities a student can ask for be it Food Canteens, Gym and Parks. Courses LPU offers a lot of courses B.Tech, MBA, Hotel Management and LL.B. Are some of the popular courses. When students of so many streams interact with each other it helps in expanding the mind not only in the course the student is currently pursuing but also in other courses. Faculty Most of the faculty members are from IIT, IIIT, NIT, IIM or from elite Schools (India/Abroad. They have a decade of experience. The faculty is really helpful. Even they help students after regular university hours In every section they have 4060 Students which helps teachers to focus on focus on each student. Placements On average, more than 600 companies visit every year for various industry-academia activities and campus recruitment of students from LPU. LPU provides placements to the maximum it has record-breaking placements in MBA approximately 98% of students got placed in top companies in the year 2020. Moreover, CSE students were placed in top companies, with a package of 42 per annum in Microsoft was a highlight in the newspaper and in news. In CSE the placement record is almost 100%. One of my friends did B.Tech from LPU and now she is working in Google in USA.

Though both the universities are good in terms of academics but being an alumni of LPU let me explain the things in detail. The campus has students all over states and 40+ countries of the world. It has 145+ programs in 55+ disciplines,150+ tie-ups with foreign universities,30k+ students, and 1400+ global and Indian super brands for placement. There are multiple facilities within the campus like university Mall, university Hospital, Food courts or kiosks, Bank ATMs, residential facilities, food facilities, and Transport facilities. The elegance and the brightness of the campus even become more lively during events, concerts, coke studio performances, One India, and One World Fests. There are multiple student organizations that give an excellent opportunity to students to hone and sharpen their skills. The University also has a robust division of career services along with faculty and staff of parent-school to provide eligible students with job opportunities. Moreover, the security team works day and night ensuring the safety of the campus residents. I am an existing student of B.Tech of the LPU and I think I am in a particular place from where I can experience and answer this question as I have seen the gradual rise of this LPU over the past 2 years. Hostel Life - LPU offers the largest accommodation in India with about 20000 hostel spaces. Hostel Life is an excellent learning phase as I have learned many things there. AC, non-AC rooms are provided with suitable lighting services and the room is quite open. The Department's shops are open 24 hours a hostel where you can find many items. Suitable basketball courts, soccer, cricket, tennis, skiing, etc. Hostel competitions are held twice a year. Scholars - Day by day quality is improving students' development plays a major role in their progress. They are easily accessible and ready to face challenges. Every day, good students discover something new to learn. Critical students will definitely SEE a dramatic change after doing B.Tech here. English will improve and the whole personality will shine. Also, there are certain procedures for deleting lessons, so you should keep that in mind and be prepared. Apart from that, three, opportunities are offered before wearing a back-to-back crown. You can also improve your grades by completing the upgrade option (not offered by most universities). Placement- In India, most people judge any college based on placement. So, here we are. In North India, the LPU has resorted to fraudulent placement in private universities by no. For designated students. The set-up team has some hard-working men who work hard to call good companies a good package if not. B.Tech CSE has achieved excellent campus placement record. At CSE, students get placement as a hot cake sold in the market.

According to me, SRM (Chennai) is far better than LPU in terms of placements, infrastructure, rankings, and social life.

Before finalising any institute, I will advise you to check the following parameters: 1. Rankings 2. Years of establishment 3. Curriculum 4. Industry Exposure 5. Infrastructure required for learning 6. Placements 7. Efforts for your placement 8. Community Projects 9. Centre for Excellence 10. Internal and external competitions 11. Trainings Both universities are doing good in academics but LPU is outperforming in placements. SRM has better placements. I won't prefer you to opt for LPU other than for CSE as this is the branch it is known for. For any other thing, you won't be able to find any good thing other than infra. Placements of all the other branches are so worse that if you will see it once, then you won't pursue engineering at all.
