Which course should I prefer: B.A. in psychology (H) or B.Sc. in psychology (H)?

Psychology is a branch of Science which deals with the scientific study of mental functions and behaviour. The field includes the study of various fields such as Memory, Learning, Environment & Behaviour, Practicals including Observation & Suggestion, Habit Interference and so on. After the completion of Bachelor of Arts course in Psychology, the aspirants have a wide scope in terms of both higher studies as well as in securing a job. Various post graduate and doctoral courses are available in India in the field of Psychology. The aspirants can also secure a bright career in the allied fields after the completion of under graduate programme in Psychology. B.Sc. in Psychology: Career prospects Clinical psychology is a vital, part of treatment in hospitals and clinics. A Clinical Psychologist treats patients suffering from grief or chronic psychological issues. They work with specific groups such as children, married couples, elderly, or pursue a general practice. Counselling is fast gaining prominence as a para-subject among educational institutions. Students frequently need counselling to reveal their interests and skills, and find direction. Sports Psychology is another up-and-coming field, with an increasing number of athletes requiring the help of specialists to improve their performance and counter depression and anxiety. Such graduates may later pursue advanced courses such as Masters in Psychology or even Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). Psychiatrist or other medical doctor uses medication for treatment while Psychologists can only use talk therapy as a treatment. Sometimes peoples think that Psychologists and psychiatrist are the same professions, but they both are completely different. In India, the first department of psychology was established at Calcutta University in early 1915. Scope:- It is a vast and diverse field. It consists of many sub-disciplines and areas of specialisation. Looking from academic programs point of view, Psychology study can be approached in two ways Clinical Psychology courses Psychology (as a Social Science) courses BA in Psychology falls under the social Science category. It deals with the understanding the behavior, thinking and mind of individuals and groups. CAREER PROSPECTS BA in Psychology graduates have access to diverse job opportunities. If you really SEE yourself as an Arts person, I. e. , you strongly enjoy and prefer Arts courses, then you should definitely go the B.A. Route. If you really SEE yourself as a Science person, I. e. , you strongly enjoy and prefer Science courses, then you should definitely go the B.Sc. Route.
