Based on current market trends computer science engineering has more scope and better placement opportunities. With all these new startups and MNCs coming to India CSE is a branch where you want to be in coming 4-5 years.
Mechanical engineering has its own perks, a career in ME allows you to build a better future for you, and for the world. ME might not provide you a high paying job initially, but over the time with your experience you can grow.
Both the branches have scope and it all depends on your dedication.

    Hi,
Both mechanical as well as computer science has ample of good opportunities, the only difference with respect to any individual is the amount of interest, knowledge and the skills.
Being a mechanical graduate, let me give you brief insight upon the opportunities a person having mechanical background gets. Mechanical is known as the "Evergreen Branch". It is a mixture of all the branches, like computer Science, chemistry, physics, electronics, environment, etc. Thus as the experience of a person having mechanical background increases, the extent of knowledge of various fields also increases proportionally. Hi,
    How are you?
Well, each and every branch in engineering is good, we can't compare them. Just there are a few differences like mechanical, electrical and civil are evergreen branches but CS, IT and EC have high placement records.
Other than this, you may also take chemical, metallurgy, mechatronics, etc.
    So, choose a suitable branch.
    Go for it.
    Thank you and keep asking!

In India, there are very less jobs for the mechanical engineers but as in the coming scenario there might be the rise in demand of these engineers but the CS branch is evergreen in India and there will always be the demand of these engineers.

I've had a really good experience with the mechanical engineering faculty at Chandigarh University. Most of them are PhD holders, so you can tell they know their subject inside out. What I like is that they're not just teaching from books—they share real-world examples, guide us in labs, and help with projects. The faculty is approachable, so if you ever get stuck on something, you can just ask, and they'll explain patiently. They also encourage students to explore electives like Thermal & Energy Engineering, Industrial Manufacturing, or Design & Robotics, and help you pick what suits your career goals.

Plus, with all the collab

Yes, Chandigarh University is a good choice for B.E. in Mechanical Engineering. What I really like about the programme is the variety of specializations you can pick, like Thermal & Energy, Industrial Manufacturing & Management, or Automation & Robotics. The labs are another strong point from 3D printing and advanced welding labs to industry-backed centres by Honda, Mahindra, Hyundai, and MG Motors. These collaborations give you hands-on exposure that feels very close to real-world industry work. On top of that, the department is both ABET and NBA accredited, which adds global recognition. With regular industrial visits, workshops, and
