Dear Gaoutham, No branch is less or more important, each of them has its own importance, it solely depends on you, in which stream you want to make your career. SEE there are enough jobs for every stream, what a company need is quality engineers, SO if you are dead serious for your better future and giving parallel dedication towards it, you will definitely going to succeed. Every organisation or company requires to be present digitally, be it banks, hospitals, education, or railways. It is difficult to say about a particular branch as each and every branch has a great future scope and demand as every branch has its own importance and applications in our daily routine. So, you not get biased to any branch. You only have to understand your interest and passion that in which field you can become successful with the help of your hard work. In India, there are various job opportunities for both of these branches in public sector. I will suggest you to choose CSE over Mechanical Engineering. If you gravitate towards complex mechanics that machines of different types integrate, mechanical engineering is the right choice for you. On the other hand, if you are interested in computing technology, you'll grow in your career by taking up computer Science engineering.

As far as the recent trends are concerned, Computer Science will fetch you far better placement opportunities and salaries as compared to Mechanical stream. Many the colleges touch above 90% placement percentage in CS branch, however, the placement percentage of Mechanical branch is slightly lower.

Dear Goutham, If you are intrigued by machine designs, their mechanics, and dynamics, go for mechanical engineering. Mechanical engineering yields some similarities, the biggest difference between the two careers is what professionals in the field engineer. The scope of higher education is high after B.Tech CSE, and students who are planning to go abroad for higher studies will be most beneficial with this degree. Both are good streams but it depends on your interest as to which stream you want to join and interested in. LP
