Which is a better career option- M.Sc. or MBA?

Hi, After Bachelors, if you go for a work experience it would not fetch you much salary. Moreover, once you go for a job then after a gap continuing with your studies becomes difficult. Later at a point, your promotions will be stuck due to the lack of higher degree. The same holds good for a certification as it does not carry much value when added to a Bachelors degree according to me.In my opinion, MBA would be the best choice as it would give you a good and respectable job with a decent salary wherever you go. Jobs for MBAs are everywhere. Another thing is that eventually in life if you want to go for your own startup, the university would have trained you already. As I know that LPU trains its students with innovative ideas for startups. Therefore, the seed of your entrepreneurship skills will start right from the college campus. A certification can be an add on even after your MBA. Think over the three concepts and choose wisely. There are many good colleges for this like St. Josephs, SYMBIOSIS, LPU, etc.

You should go for MBA. You will get more job opportunity after doing MBA.

It totally depends on the person. I have three choices for you. 1) If you are really inclined towards programming or to say computer science i.e. if you really enjoy working in the IT environment, ask yourself whether you are content or not with the work you are doing or projects you have done. If yes, then go for M.Sc as it will enhance your knowledge in that domain and help you grab higher pay with that degree. 2) If you are a fresher than try working for at least 2 years with B.Sc Computer related job profiles. This will help you clarify what you want to do. If you are already working and are enjoying your work and just want to upgrade your designations and pay then have add ons with certifications. Do certifications related to projects you want to enter or you may try switching companies as you gain experience. 3) If you are a fresher or have work experience it does not matter, try for MBA gain some business ethics and develop business acumen. This is again for two types of people, first the ones who just want high salaries on the early stage itself or for those who want to change their career paths. Second, those who want to have their own startups in future or join the family business, MBA is a good option for them.

You should go for MBA, if you wish to learn how to manage other people and wants to change your career line. Although, if you liked to study and B.Sc and still have an interest in that field of study, you should opt for M.Sc without much thinking. Now a day knowledge and practical application of the same are required in most jobs, and we can get the same understanding for work-life experience, so it has great importance.

I hope that you've to go for MBA as it has a huge opportunities than MSc. Many placements for MBA. So, go through MBA, if you're interested in chemistry stream, then go for MSc.

according to me you should choose the MSC not the MBA because after BSC the MSC is good as a post graduation. Seeing your background the MSC will be more benificial for you neither MBA.

Doing M.Sc would be a natural follow up to doing B.Sc as both are naturally aligned to each other. Though yes, you are eligible to join any of the MBA programmes anywhere in the world. A lot depends upon what do you want to do ahead in life. Do not pursue any course just for the heck of it. There are plentiful of MBA's in the country right now but a lot of them are doing menial jobs. Recently, there was a news article which said that the aspirants in bank clerk examination included lot of MBA students. There is no reason of doing an MBA if you aren't doing it from top tier colleges like IIMs, XLRI, FMS, IIFT etc. as the placement prospects would be very bleak. Traditional wisdom suggest that if you really don't know what to do you may very well pursue M.Sc in CS and look for a relevant job for yourself. After working in an organisation you will be in a better position to gauge whether you should be doing on MBA or not. Moreover if you really want to pursue an MBA then you may use the time you get while doing your M.Sc to prepare for examinations like CAT, XAT etc and get selected in one of the reputed colleges and then see how you progress from there.
