Automobile comes under mechanical Only.

automobile is the sub-part of mechanical. so pursuing the later one is obviously better. -
It depends up on your intrest. since the automobile engineering have been derived only from mechanical engineering. Automobile engineering is a specified path, if u have selected it u cannot deviate you have to stick with it.but after competing mechanical engineering u can select different areas.Automobile industries also need peole with knowledge in automation and robotics.
