The most important factor is interest but still, if you don't know your interest, you have to choose between a career in AC room with a computer or on the production line. If we look at the present scenario, almost everything is automated which increases the scope for computer engineering but mechanical is an evergreen branch so you don't need to worry if you choose mechanical. Make sure you learn well during 4-years of engineering which will help you in getting a good job ahead.

Choose what your mind says. If you have dreamt of being a mechanical engineer that opt for mechanical engineering else go for CS engineering. Placements and opportunities are very bright in both the branches. You can excel only where you have interest, so don't listen to others. Listen to your inner self.

Computer Science engineering is good because there are greater job opportunities. Once, you start developing software even projects are available online. You can bid for them and complete it, then you will be paid off.

Mechanical engineering is called an evergreen branch as Mechanical Engineers do find placement opportunities in almost every sector in industry. But computer industry although hit by recession on occasions in the past also offer promising prospects for job aspirants. Lets hope for the better.

    Hi,
    How are you?
Well, each and every branch in engineering is good, we can't compare them. Just there are a few differences like mechanical, electrical and civil are evergreen branches but CS, IT and EC have high placement records.
Other than this, you may also take chemical, metallurgy, mechatronics, etc.
    So, choose a suitable branch.
    Go for it.
    Thank you and keep asking!

See, if you have depth knowledge of physics, then you usually choose mechanical, because many more subjects like fluid mechanics, strength of material etc. need class 12th basic.
Otherwise, computer science is booming all over the world.
