Clearly, IGRUA is better than WCAT, Pune. Because WCAT doesn't have their own infrastructure for Flying/ Pilot training facility. So no one should ever keep WCAT as any 2nd or 3rd option also.

As Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA) is a government college for pilot training though you should go to IGRUA. Hello, The two flying schools mentioned for comparison are as different as chalk and cheese. Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUI) is a government institute and hence those who are seeking admission there should be rest assured about the recognition etc. On the other hand, WCAT is located in Pune and is more famous for its courses on aircraft maintenance engineering or AME rather than training students as pilots. IGRUI being government owned has its own typical problems and issues and sometimes things get stuck in red tape and the students are the sufferers. It has been reported that many a times the aircraft is unserviceable and it takes long time to get it flying again. As a consequence, students suffer in requiring more time to complete mandated 200 hours of flying. As against this private schools will not allow red tape to hinder its operations. Hence it is my considered opinion that students must weigh pros &cons brought out above and then decide which flying school to join.

WCAT is the only institute in Pune approved by DGCA for Heavy Aeroplane (HA), Jet Engine (JE), Electrical System, Instrument System and Radio Navigation System. Dear, Without any doubt and hesitation, you should grab the seat in 'Indira Ghandi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA)' for pilot training. The biggest reason to saying this, is it is a government institution which offers this course and hence, there is no tension to think for its recognition and affiliations. Great thing is that they provides scholarship to students. There is JRD Tata scholarship given upon completion of course. IGRUA recommends the name for award of scholarship to about 10 cadets a year. And, when it comes to placement, then you need not worry at all. Some airlines occasionally would do a campus interview for IGRUA or provide reservation for those who have passed out of IGRUA. However, these occasions are far and few in between. Having said this, the IGRUA is a premier flight and their graduate are absorbed by the airlines with relative ease as compared to other CPL holders. To get into IGRUA Aviation Academy, you need to clear 3- level entrance test. Firstly you need to give prelims based on the concept of 11th & 12th of Maths, physics and English followed by PMBAT exam. After that, you have to clear their medical fitness test and lastly the face to face panel interview with IGRUA officials.
