    The eligibility criteria of M.Sc. (Hons. ). Microbiology programme is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Bachelors Degree (Applied Medical Science or Medical Science and Allied Medical or Agriculture or Biosciences or Food Science or Medical Lab. Technology or Life Sciences or Veterinary Microbiology & Parasitology or Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology or Clinical Chemistry or Public Health & Allied Sciences or Plant Science) or equivalent.

    For M.Sc. in microbiology, you should must have B.Sc. with the subjects like microbiology, Chemistry biotechnology, botany and Zoology.
  • For becoming eligible to get admission in M.Sc in microbiology, one should be opting for streams related to biology like zoology, botany, microbiology, bacteriology, etc. , at graduation level (B.Sc).

    Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc. Microbiology
    They should have completed B.Sc. Degree in any stream of Science such as Botany, Zoology Chemistry Physiology, Microbiology from a recognised University. Candidates must have scored at least 55% of marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) in the qualifying examination. Hope it helps.

    B.Sc. Microbiology Eligibility
    Must have passed Class 12 or any other equivalent examination from a recognised board with an aggregate of at least 60% marks. Aspirants must have studied Physics Chemistry and Biology/ Zoology/ Botany as compulsory subjects in Class 12. Being an Alumni, I would say LPU has it all for a perfect learning of this course. The number of institutes offering B.Sc. Microbiology course is overwhelming. However, not all of them can boast about quality.     Microbiology is a specialization. The students who have completed their Bachelor in microbiology or biotechnology are elite opt for Masters in microbiology as they are trained in the basics and the laboratory skills and techniques. So, do well in these course.

    B.Sc in Biology or Microbiology will be an ideal choice. But I would suggest pursuing B.Sc. In Biology in case you change your mind later about the subject.

    Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya
