If my understanding is right, then 6-weeks of industrial training is the mandatory part of engineering curriculum irrespective of the Institute. The objective of industrial training is to provide an exposure to industrial/professional working environment which happens to be significantly different from the college/campus environment and hence in a way prepares students for the upcoming professional life.
