Yes, LPU is a first private University having ICAR accreditation. ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) co-ordinates agricultural education and research in the country under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture (Govt. of India).

John, the university has already applied for ICAR approval. Approval is given to the university/institute and it is not batch specific. It is the sole concern of ICAR and depends upon them that how much time they will take for the process. Yes, indeed. Getting the highest Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) rating of 3.71 on a scale of 4, among all universities, Lovely Professional University (LPU) has become India's first private university/college to get ICAR accreditation. This accreditation was awarded to LPU in the month of October 2018. ICAR co-ordinates agricultural education and research in the country under the aegis of the Department of Agricultural Research & Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Government of India for B.Sc (Hons) agriculture & M.Sc (agriculture). Under this accreditation, agricultural education based LPU degree programmes have been approved for a period of 5-year: B.Sc (Hons) in Agriculture with GPAP of 3.72/4; M.Sc Horticulture (Fruit Science) with GPAP of 3.75/4; M.Sc. Agronomy with GPAP of 3.60/4 and M.Sc Genetics and Plant Breeding with GPAP of 3.60/4.

Lovely Professional University is the 1st Private University in India to receive ICAR Accreditation.
