Hi Sameeksha, most of the companies want more than 6 CGPA. However, there are certain companies who do not have any criteria for CGPA irrespective of the criteria you should groom yourself and equip yourself with all the skills and knowledge pertaining to your subject so that no loopholes are left and when you appear for the interview you emerge a winner. One has to aim at holistic development. The companies not only want intelligent people but also those who are good at presenting things. This one can learn while doing mock interviews, group discussions, presentations and other such activities. The teachers, mentors and the placement

Nothing is difficult if you give your maximum effort and show utmost dedication. Considering the curriculum, Computer Science Engineering is somewhat tough but it's not impossible to score 7.5, if you work hard and follow a genuine strategy then you can score more than 8 points too. However, follow the instructions given by the faculty members to score more and invest much time in your studies. The faculty members of Chandigarh University are really experienced and they help the students much. So use this advantage, guess it works.

Yes, a good CGPA is required to get good placements. If you have reappears of backlogs then they will not let you sit in placement drive actually they required 6.50 CGPA. And maintaining a good CGPA is a sign of a good student. Apart from this LPU do a lot of hard work to get their student placed. They give students PEP classes. In which students can enhance their communication skills and interpersonal skills which is most important in terms of interview points of view.

    Hello
Great interacting with you. Most of the companies want 6 to 6.5 CGPA. If you have minimum CGPA still you will be able to sit for 70 to 75% of the companies However, there are some companies who want it around 8.5. It is just a threshold set by companies to filter students. If u have CGPA more than 8.5 you will be eligible for 100% of the companies. Having a 7 CGPA with skills is far better than having a 9 CGPA with zero skillset. Companies are not looking for bookworms. They are looking for skilled individuals. If you found it useful then upvote or thumbs up my answer. Good luck.

Hey, so from what I've checked on LPU's official site, the NEST counselling is mainly done online, which is super convenient for us students anywhere in India. You just log in after your results, pick your preferred courses and seats based on your rank, and lock it all in digitally—no need to travel right away.
It's got this smooth flow: download your scorecard, fill choices online, get seat allotment via merit, pay the initial fee (like INR20,000) through net banking or UPI, then submit docs later. LPU makes it flexible too, letting you pay offline at campus if you prefer, but the core process stays online for quick access.

Yeah, LPU totally releases the LPU NEST counselling dates on their official site—it's super organized and student-friendly. For 2026, they've got it starting February 8th onwards for B.Tech, with online seat preferences from Feb 8-10, results on 12th, and admissions up to late Feb. Results drop quick, like within 24-48 hours post-exam, so you can jump right into counselling without waiting forever.
It's all online mostly, through nest.lpu.in, where you update choices and get allotments based on your score—makes it easy from anywhere. No offline hassle unless you want campus visits for fees. LPU keeps everything updated live, way

Yes, it is actually very much required to bring along Class 10 and 12 certificates or at least mark sheets during the LPU NEST counseling, primarily because the university explicitly would wish to establish the age of applicants from the Class 10 marksheet and verify eligibility with the Class 12 certificate/marksheet before confirming admission and awarding a scholarship.

at LPU NEST counselling, you would have to check the result & rank, fill and lock online course/seat preferences, get the allotment of the seat based on the rank and choices, pay to secure the seat by paying the initial fee, and go on to upload/verify documents and pay the remaining fee within the stipulated time for final admission.
