Does LPU provide good placements for mechanical engineering?

Hi KIran, the LPU offers a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic Science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal etc. Specialisation. The Eligibility Criteria is (Qualifying Exam) Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics Mathematics and English or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmir Migrants) The course aims at enabling the student to Effectively build and communicate the solutions using learnings from basic mechanical engineering, basic sciences, mathematics and computational skills and tools. He should have the Ability to design using Design of Machine Elements theories and to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technology. He should acquire Capability of building efficient energy conversion systems using basic understanding of Thermodynamics Heat transfer and Fluid Mechanics. He should Demonstrate the ability to propose cost effective optimized solutions using simulated environments of Computer aided design, computer aided manufacturing and computer aided engineering. The highest salary package offered to mechanical branch students is 31 LPA, while the average salary is 4.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Bosch, ONGC, Ashok Leyland, Hitachi, etc.

Few accolades earned by Mechanical Engineering students are: Mechanical engineering students designed a futuristic Formula One Racing Car at SAEINDIA 2017 Noida. India's first-ever self-driving, solar-powered bus hits the road and made the maiden journey at the Indian Science Congress which was inaugurated by The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, held at LPU. The bus was designed by LPU students. Engineering Students From All Over India Participated In EFFI-Cycle 2018, Held At LPU Campus in Collaboration With Maruti Suzuki where there were more than 70 participants from institutions like IITs, NITs and from colleges across India. There was cash price of 1 Lacs at the national green mobility competitive event. Mechanical engineers work mostly in engineering services, research and development, and manufacturing. I would say LPU is better for mechanical engineering based on the following point. LPU is good for Mechanical and automobile engineering. Good placements in a core company as well as a software company. Other than participating in different events like a go-kart, project expo, entertainment events like one India, one world, etc. Practical-based learning and valuable guest lectures are an integral part of the university. LPU provides ample opportunities to each and every eligible student to secure a good placement. Zee News Survey rated us as 11th Best in India in Placements. School of Mechanical Engineering is among the best engineering colleges in Punjab. I had some friends in Mechanical dept. And they had great things to say about the mechanical engineering department. LPU is the largest university in India and it has many highlights. In terms of international tie-ups, the university stands apart from other universities in the countries. With the constant zeal to improve and provide endless opportunities to the students, the following tie-ups are a few feathers in the cap: International Association Of Universities (IAU), France Association Of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), UK The Institute Of International Education (IIE), New York Accreditation Council For Business Schools And Programs (ACBSP), USA The mechanical dept. Has more than 40 labs for experimentation works. Many brands like Voltas International, Honda Two Wheelers, Asahi India Glass Ltd. , Indo Farm Tractors Ltd. Have been visiting LPU for recruiting mechanical engineers. Honda offered packages of 7.9 LPA, Hettich India and Giga Solar offered package of 5 LPA and 2.4 LPA to students of final year for internships.
