LPU is a university who frequently becomes the talk of the town. The events coverage in national and international level media has given this university an international level presence. LPU Students wins Car Design Competitions at the Delta Automation Contest-2017 in China among which more than 75 teams participated from across Asia. In another achievement, Mechanical engineering students designed a futuristic Formula One Racing Car at SAEINDIA 2017 Noida. India's first-ever self-driving, solar-powered bus hits the road and made the maiden journey at the Indian Science Congress which was inaugurated by The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, held at LPU. The bus was designed by LPU students. Engineering Students from All over India Participated in EFFI-Cycle 2018, held at LPU Campus in Collaboration with Maruti Suzuki where there were more than 70 participants from institutions like IITs, NITs and from colleges across India. There was cash price of 1 Lacs at the national green mobility competitive event. LPU Students don't just draw a car design, they actually built it and presented it alongside Mercedes, BMW etc. At Auto Expo where LPU students showed 15 unique car designs and prototypes. LPU students design and race go karts, electric bikes, solar cars and efficient pedal cycles. That's the way to learn engineering!
International Tie ups with more than 50 top universities all around the world provides ample opportunities for Abroad Summer Internships, Articulation Programs, Student Exchange programs at Scholarships. In addition, their impeccable placements records with the highest package offered to the students is approximately INR. 26 Lacs per annum. Now, coming back to placements, in comparison to local private universities, LPU performs well but is nowhere near premier institutes like IITs, NITs or BITS.
LPU had okayish placements for Automobile department. Very few students got placed from Automobile department. This is also because the branch has lesser opportunities compared to branches like CSE. Most of them were placed in IT roles. Average package was about 3LPA.
So, placement scenario was poor for Automob

Top companies: Volkswagon, Voltas, Anglo Eastern Ship Mgt., Asahi India, Rockman (Hero group), Dharam Consulting, Samundra, Indo-MIM, Sandhar Technologies, JK Lakshmi Cement, Maruti, Lava, XL Dynamics, Asahi India, Cleanmax Solar, Elgi Equipments, etc. there are good placements above 70% for automobiles Engineering Specialization.
Last year, companies visiting for automobiles branch were as follows:-
XL Dynamics
Sandhar
Eastern Anglo Shipping Pvt Ltd
Wolks wagon (only top 20 out of 3500 students selected to attend 1st round of the interview).
Samundra
Metro tyres (Main preference for Punjabies).

Hi,
I won't prefer you to opt for LPU other than for CSE as this is the branch it is known for. For any other thing, you won't be able to find any good thing other than infra. Placements of all the other branches are so worse that if you will see it once, then you won't pursue engineering at all.

In LPU The placement opportunities in LPU are much better than other private universities as it is ranked the 5th amongst the other universities for its placement records. More than 550 companies visit every year for such activities and campus-recruitment of students from LPU and this year for batch graduating in 2020, already more than 500 placement/internship drives have been conducted till January 2020 with leading industry giants (more than 90% being MNCs) and generating more than 3000 offers just in the first half of the academic session. I believe that you should visit LPU campus or you can contact from the website also.
