LPU is the university that majors in CSE and mechanical department. The faculties of the mechanical department are from IITs, NITS. The Infrastructure of LPU is so beautiful. Plus the mechanical department of LPU owns the brightest minds of India.
The course structure of mechanical is very similar to that of most of the IITs and NITs. Moreover, we can say it follows the discipline of IITs and NITs.
Talking about the placement, Almost 70% of mechanical batch get placed every year via On-campus placement in well reputed companies like Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj, TVS, Honda, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Tech Mahindra, Yamaha and much more. These were

Placements of the previous batch were pretty good in comparison to the last few years. Honda came and offered a package of 8 LPA. Other MNCs like Cognizant, Tech Mahindra and many other prestigious companies regularly visit our campus for campus selection. Here, less than 40% of the students are placed in the campus drive and less than 5% got placed in mechanical core companies. For the mechanical students, the highest package offered is less than 7 LPA but most of the students get the package between 2 - 4.5 LPA. Cognizant and Tech Mahindra always visit our campus. If anybody get selected for the companies then he will have to wait mo

Lovely professional university is a private university. You can get detailed overview from –
    https://www.shiksha.com/university/lovely-professional-university-jalandhar-28499
In comparison to local private universities LPU performs well but is nowhere near premier institutes like IITs, NITs or BITS.
LPU had average placements for mechanical department. 80% of placed students got packages less than 4 LPA.
15% got packages between 4-7 LPA. Remaining 5% got packages above 10 LPA from companies like Amazon (IT giants).
So placement scenario was average for CSE at LPU.

I would not suggest you to opt for LPU for any branch other than CSE. For any other thing, you won't be able to find anything good other than infra and placements.

For mechanical engineers aspiring to work in their core field, LPU is not a very great option. Though some good companies come to hire mechanical guys but still only a few of them get selected. It's around 20% who gets selected, most of the mechanical students get placed in IT companies in LPU. Average package of 3-5LPA is offered.
