How are the placements of B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from LPU?

Some of the questions that make me think that mechanical engineering has become a grandparent of engineering and might have lost its charm. You might agree or disagree with this. I had the same question when I was looking out for college for my B.Tech I was confused between Delhi Technological University, Delhi, and Lovely Professional University Phagwara. But after discussions, thinking, and recommendations from my relatives ( Allummni of LPU) I joined LPU. It was actually a great decision. As per my experience, LPU is the best place for engineering. Placements are good in LPU for B.Tech in mechanical engineering. Approximately 70% of the students got placed with an average salary package of 5 LPA. Bosch, Think and Learn, TCS and Cognizant are top recruiters. Students also got an internship in Hero Cycles, Amazon and Sonalika with an assistant engineer as a role. LPU is basically an industry oriented university not like the other universities focusing on just making students grasp the syllabus. Many people have their views that LPU students study less but to complete the statement, I would say that the students study less but work hard. The most prominent and wide tech fest for mech students GO Kart takes place in LPU for consecutive years and LPU is bagging the top position in the race. Also, the cars are designed, build and the coordination of the event is done by the mech students only. Placements: There are more than 100 companies that are coming in LPU for placements of mech. Students. It varies from 3 Lacs per annum to 12 Lacs per annum. The highest salary package offered to mechanical branch students is 31 LPA, while the average salary is 4.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Bosch, ONGC, Ashok Leyland, Hitachi, etc. The LPU offers a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering. It is an Engineering programme which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic Science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal etc. Specialisation. The Eligibility Criteria is (Qualifying Exam) Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics Mathematics and English or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST/ JEE (Mains). For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmir Migrants) If Candidate has 85 or more percentile in JEE (Mains), then LPU NEST is exempted. The course aims at enabling the student to Effectively build and communicate the solutions using learnings from basic mechanical engineering, basic sciences, mathematics and computational skills and tools. He should have the Ability to design using Design of Machine Elements theories and to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technology. He should acquire Capability of building efficient energy conversion systems using basic understanding of Thermodynamics Heat transfer and Fluid Mechanics.
