How are the placements of BE in Aeronautical Engineering from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE)?

Hi there, It's necessary to know that aeronautical is not a core branch and it is not available in all the colleges. Taking into consideration that it is available in DSCE, it is one of the most organised and advanced department when it comes to infrastructure, updated courses and faculty here. However regarding placements, the placement for aeronautical branch is particularly good. Aero engineers are recruited in consulting and service firms like Infosys (consulting services for clients like Boeing, Lockheed, etc), Accenture, Musigma( analytics and market research in all domains) and also in core companies. Some core companies that recruit from DSCE are Textron aviation, Bell Helicopters, Quest Global, Volvo, Bosch and other on who help in the aviation sector. Apart from direct recruitment, opportunities for paid internships are also offered often to eligible students through a selection process. If deserving, one may even get to do an internship with the prestigious IISC and IITs in the research sector. There exists various competitions of model building and innovation challenges through which one can successfully attain a permanent job if deserving and eligible. Most of the companies ask for an aggregate of 60%+ to attend placements with no current backlogs at the time of placements. Apart from placement in above companies, one may even get an opportunity to work with various startups that are looking for enthusiastic and talented freshers. Overall, about 50-55% of each batch gets placed in one of the recruiting companies including mass recruiters. From this we can infer that placements are very good in DSCE Aero.

Hi there, Aeronautical engineering is a study about the design and systems of an aircraft. It involves practical and theoretical understanding of materials, assembling parts, testing and maintenance of aircrafts. Placements of aeronautical engineering is not that good as compared to cse/it branches. Here is some of the insights of the college. If core placement is what you expect after completing B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering then you should know that the college fails to provide you with any. You will get a job in some or the other IT company like (reputed mass recruiters) TCS, WIPRO or COGNIZANT and you will keep asking yourself the question that what have you learnt over the last few years of your job life. The only answer that you will get is that you have made a complete waste of your degree by walking up in an IT company rather than being stuck up working for core company placement. These IT companies or the marketing companies that come to the campus to recruit the students readily would offer you nothing more than 4 LPA. The only option that you will have is pursuing MS from some foreign reputed college as the number of opportunities in aerospace field in India is a lot less than the opportunities overseas. Hence, I would recommend that you think about it twice before taking admission in this college where only 70% of the batch gets placed in aerospace engineering and that too in IT companies. Cheers.
