Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or "AME" are the people who maintain the aircraft by carrying out different maintenance activities on the aircraft and making sure that is safe for flying. There are basically two streams. One is mechanical and the other one is avionics. There are many training establishment in India that give this training. Here basic qualifications for entry is only 10+2 with PCM. Of course with more people desirous of joining these institutions, some of these have started taking entrance exam to admit students. Aircraft Maintenance Engineer AME is a technical course in which a student learns about checking of aircraft parts, engines, components and maintain the aircraft.
