How to become a radio jockey in India? What are the skill sets that will help you to become a become a successful RJ?

To become an RJ, you should have confidence, communication skill, attitude and knowledge. Command on current affairs is also important. Be natural as much as you can because interaction will be on the top priority in this field, and once you lose your confidence, you will be nowhere. People will believe whatever you will say. Don't hurt anybody's sentiments.

Hi, To become a radio jockey, there are various Diploma courses that you can do, these courses are usually for short-term. Also, you can do courses from foreign countries if money is not an issue. There are various universities in India that offer radio jockey courses. Well, there is a lot of skill required to be a successful RJ. You should be an extrovert kind of person if you are an introvert can't converse with people than it would be a tough nut for you, you should have good sense of humor, you must have skill of replying wittly and swiftly, you should be spontaneous in your responses, you should be good with your words, and if you add dramatization to your voice then it would be an icing on the cake as you must have seen various RJs speaking in different tones in different circumstances and how we love them. If you have always been a friendly, talkative person and can easily make come back in any conversation then you are good to go for this RJ career. Hope we get to hear you RJying. Radio Jockeying is an exciting, promising and thrilling career for those who have strong interpersonal skills and Radio Jockeys specifically are the people who anchor programmes and give commentaries on the radio. The task of a radio jockey is to keep the listeners entertained and engaged by playing music, conveying a message or conversing with guests. The first and foremost thing required to become an RJ is to have the knowledge of how and what does RJ do, which you can only get after pursuing the right course. The skill sets that will help you to become an RJ can be good communication skills, hyper active with management and the most important part to remain cool and calm. Rest I believe all other things can be achieved with time and proper practice. It is going to be a tough race to achieve success, but all you need to do is keep your mind firmed and dedicated towards the goal.

It is not an easy job to become an RJ. The basic qualities that you need to inherit in you will be the ability to talk on multiple topics simultaneously, talk with a sense of humor, talk sensibly etc. But above all, you must have a passion for radio jockeying. But, this is only the raw material that you need to have to become an RJ. With these, you have to process them for the final output. This process is training. Training for different skills required in the practical life of an RJ. These skills include soft skill, talking style, handling the listeners etc. And, you also need a certificate from a reputed RJ training institute to prove your quality. So, I hope you can understand that becoming an RJ is not an easy job. But, if you try with passion, then it is easier for you.
