I got 55 marks in JEE Mains and 73% in CBSE board. Can I get any NIT?

    If you are from a reserved category then you have chances of getting an NIT.

    drop a year or try a private college.

    No, as for good NITs you need atleast 180 marks and 75% in boards. However, try any good private college.

    There is no chance of getting NIT with any category as your marks are too low. You didn't clear the minimum marks required criteria (75%).

    No, your class 12th score is less than 75%. You can't get into NIT, because you are not eligible for the same.

    Yes, you belong to a category and the minimum eligibility is 65% marks in boards, so you can apply for sure. But, it may be difficult to get into good NITs and good branches.

    If you are a reserved category candidate such as ST/SC, then there is a chance of getting you lower NIIT like Srinagar, Agartala, etc.
