The only thing that will give you a good college is your category. If belong to SC ST Category, then you will surely get a good college. I am not saying that only SC ST enjoys these opportunities but you will get good private colleges like Chandigarh University, Punjab University, Chitkara University and Chandigarh University I have less examples but if you search for the best colleges in India you will get good examples of best private colleges. -

If you belong to SC or ST category, then you can get good colleges with good branches like civil, mechanical. Since, I have friends with 90-110 marks in JEE Main and belongs to ST category, they got CS in VNIT. So, you have good chances of getting better college. All the best. -
