If you belong to OBC or SC /ST then yes you have a fair chance to get a govt. college but if you belong to general then it is difficult to predict whether you will get a collage or not. Go through the JoSSA counselling.

Yes, you can get NITs, but not with good branch. So, if you want good branch you do not wait for counselling. You should compete other competitive exam also like DTU, COMEDK, and WBJEE etc. For more information of your prediction of college you can hit the link:

The only thing that will give you a good college is your category. If belong to SC ST Category, then you will surely get a good college. I am not saying that only SC ST enjoys these opportunities but you will get good private colleges like Chandigarh University, Punjab University, Chitkara University and Chandigarh University I have less examples but if you search for the best colleges in India you will get good examples of best private colleges.

If you belong to SC or ST category, then you can get good colleges with good branches like civil, mechanical. Since, I have friends with 90-110 marks in JEE Main and belongs to ST category, they got CS in VNIT. So, you have good chances of getting better college. All the best.

Well your chances of getting a good college is average. You might get into some good government college. Furthermore your choice of branch also matters, so accordingly you can expect a good college. All the best!
