Hi,
First of all, I would like to congratulate you for being good at mathematics, because it's an asset for you. As an engineering student, I would not suggest you to take admission in any particular stream of engineering just because you are good at mathematics. Being good at mathematics will definitely help you in every branch of engineering.
But it's totally different issue of deciding which branch better suits us than thinking from the favorite subject point of view. While deciding branch, carefully go through every branch. Meet the people who have already opted the course of that particular branch. Ask them about their studies and...more -
Hi,
Firstly, congratulations to you for being good at maths! It will help you a lot in the upcoming years.
So, firstly I would suggest thinking about graduating in mathematics if you have a genuine interest in maths. You can consider Indian Statistical Institute and other colleges like ISI, CMI, IISC. Firstly, think if you want to pursue research or engineering.
Coming to the branches in engineering, most of the branches require extensive usage of maths. You generally will have at least one math subject per semester and apart from that many subjects are numerically based which also require mathematics. For example, ECE requires extensive...more -
Hi,
I would like to suggest you that you go for electrical engineering or mechanical engineering as these subjects contain lots of numerical. If you are interested in any other branch of engineering, you can surely go for it. It's likely upon your interest which branch you want to pursue. Maths is a major content in all engineering subjects. So, all branches include maths paper, but if you are good in maths, you can surely get into the basic concepts of any branch subjects and solve various numericals easily. -
Hi,
Like other experts, I am also happy to see that you are good in Mathematics. First of all, almost in every engineering branches you need to apply mathematics but again from career perspective there are lots of scope for a mathematician. Also, you may try SAS analytic course later on to bring your career up combining with Mathematics skills. -
It isn't a common sight when you find someone who is good at mathematics. Congratulations for the same. Coming to your query, I'd ask you NOT to take up engineering, because ideally, every field should open up a vast world of endless possibilities, but sadly, you end up in a cubicle, coding away from 9 am to 5 pm. Would you want such an end result ? Why not try for the Indian Statistical Institute, where everything you learn is based on mathematics and the vast array of options that it brings along with itself ? Why not work as a data scientist, or as an economist, or as a financial executive for a big firm(you'll need an MBA degree fo...more

According to my point of view, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering are the best for mathematics brilliant students. I would suggest you Mechanical Engineering with recognised colleges. If you belong to Punjab you can choose RIMT University in Punjab for this course. http://rimt.ac.in/school-of-engineering.php.

If you are good in Mathematics and want to pursue something related to mathematics, then go for Bachelors in maths or B.Statistics courses available in ISI. You can also opt for Mathematics and Computing which is available in IIT-D. It is a very popular, rigorous course with high cut-offs.

Good in mathematics cannot give a right choices to choose engineering branch, it nice that you're good at mathematics that will help you in engineering.
All the best.
