Hi, CAT is the most sought after exam for MBA in our country and most of the colleges accept CAT scores. However other exams like CMAT, XAT, SNAP, MAT etc. are also accepted.

Hi, CAT is not compulsory for admission into all MBA colleges in India. CAT is a major exam accepted by many colleges but there are also other exams like XAT, SNAP, NMAT, CMAT for various different colleges through the country.

CAT is certainly the most widely accepted entrance exam, however it is not necessary for all or even most colleges. XAT is also accepted by most colleges and CMAT is also a popular choice for many Tier 2 colleges.

CAT exam is not compulsory for all colleges. There are many other exams like XAT, CMAT, SNAP, NMAT for colleges like symbosis, narsee monjee, etc.

Hi Ashish,
These are other option than CAT as a option for entrance in MBA :
MAT, JMET-conducted by IITs to provide admission in management departments of all the IITs.they offer MBA degree through this exam.
4 XAT- conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur to provide admission in MBA programs.
5 SNAP-to get admission in symbiosis institute of management.
6 GMAT-to get admission in any good business schools around the world. -
Hello Ashish,
CAT is compulsory only for applying in IIMs and few other institutes such
Nirma, Ahmedabad
IRMA, Anand
FMS, Delhi
and few more.
But all the other institutes also consider CMAT, GMAT, XAT, MAT, etc.
So if you considering specific colleges to apply in you should visit their website and check their criteria. -
The score obtained in CAT no doubt serves as a great benefit for seeking admission in the top most business schools. But there are certain colleges that may not consider your CAT score or any other score of such sort as they may have there own Common Enterance Test ie. CET. Students qualifying CET may appear for the Personal Interview round.
