Is it possible to get admission in Foreign languages if I am not from the arts stream? What is the overall eligibility criteria?

    Usually foreign language courses are not very much present in Indian education system. You need to take it from private institute or if you are lucky certain universities have it with very limited quota for admission India.
    Now coming to your question, yes you can take foreign language course without having much prior knowledge in that language but you have to start with some basics and then gradually progress with advance as they don't have any stern criteria for admission.

    Yes, you can get admission. Based on best four in XII, this is the common thing in process for admission in languages course.
    There are three different categories in which you can apply for language courses:
    1. Certificate course - For certificate course you should have done 12th. Then you just have to fill out the application form the various colleges in which you want to apply. Then after this just wait for the cutoff release by the colleges.
    2. Diploma - For those who have pursued their certificate course only they are eligible to fill out the Diploma language course's application form. Colleges also releases cutoff for the Diploma cou

    Hello,
    Learning a foreign language! It indeed has aura of its own. It's that ethereal thing which cannot be explained in words. Learning a foreign language is actually very simple. There are certificate courses, diploma courses, graduation, post-graduation also. For certificate, diploma or degree courses normal 10+2 is the criteria. Some universities also allow students to appear for graduation exam if one has completed about 500 hours of learning in that language from some authorized agency viz. 'Alliance Franca" for French.
