Hi Mr Khan, LPU is a full-fledged university approved by UGC. It does not need approval from the All India Council for Technical Education. The Supreme Court of India made it clear that it is not mandatory for a university to seek prior approval of (AICTE) however the 'technical institutions' need to seek approval from AICTE t start a new course or department. As per the NIRF rankings conducted by the ministry of education, LPU is at no 66 amongst all government and private engineering institutions imparting education in engineering. If someone is joining a UGC approved university course, even if it is not approved by AICTE you will not suffer on any of the accounts.
