Is LPU the best college for civil engineering?

LPU is not only good but the best choice for Civil Engineering which provides an ample number of opportunities for the students. Civil engineering is a programme that teaches us how to construct infrastructure and create an environment so in this a student must require practical knowledge. LPU gives you better facility, teaches you by performing practical. They provide you lab named, Unilab mechanical testing of building and development material. They also have a NABL-accredited lab for mechanical testing of building materials which makes LPU the only private university in India and the first university in Punjab to receive this certification. Now, if we talk about the placement of civil engineering students, LPU is good. You will get a chance to work on the Capstone project. Most of the big multinational corporations hire students from LPU. Highly qualified faculty offers many specializations are provided by the civil department. Every year more than 90% of students are placed for the civil branch in many MNCs The ranking of LPU in engineering is 66. Most of the faculty staff are from reputed organizations with their the highest degree from various reputed institutes such as IITs, NITs, etc. Apart from that, faculty have got previous industrial experience also. 2. The capstone project is an integral part of B.Tech programme in which students have to pick a live project based on the practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills. 3. There is an internship programme which could be an opportunity for getting work experience and increase your chance to get employment after you pass out. But, of course, your academic record should be good to get this placement option. 4. Industrial visits are organized to nearby construction sites from time to time. There, you can SEE actual construction work going on. Be prepared to have dust on your shoes (believe me, it will be worth a lot). You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you. 5. You will get some courses from soft skills, English language, mental and analytical aptitude side. This sounds dull to you as of now. But you will feel its importance when you face an interview panel in a company during your placement drives. 6. They have very good placement records and good infrastructure companies visit their campus, L & T, Simplex Piles Ltd, Era Infrastructure, Gammon India Ltd to name a few. 7. Career oriented Software training in project labs is given. To work in this profession, you are supposed to be familiar with software like MS-Project, STAAD Pro, MX Road, etc. None the less, you will be trained in Auto CAD in your second year which is prerequisite for any Civil Engineer. 8. Every theory course is complemented with relevant lab-based practical work. Some of the labs are based on field testing where experimental work is to be done, e. g. Soil Lab & Surveying Lab.

Lovely Professional University is the only private university in India that has attained the NABL accreditation in the field of mechanical testing of building and construction materials. Cicil engineering is about creating technological cities as per current scenario. It is no more on paper architecture and mind plans. Its about practical intensive training integrated with technology to bring out the golden dream of 'Incredible India'My elder brother have studied civil engineering from LPU in 2018 and now working as Technical head at a reputed firm He have studied civil engineering and was telling me that while most of the educational institutions run their lab to teach students about testing procedures but LPU has NABL accreditation through which students get exposure to actual commercial projects which helped him a lot in industry as a beginner as the pre industry collaborative exposure was a live working experience and contributed to the amazing performance in the initial years itself.
