One of the best approaches while deciding on your subjects/ stream is to opt for or look at doing something that you are good at and would enjoy keeping in mind your personality, aptitude, ability, strengths and career goals.
You should analyze the various opportunities available and select the right path based on your personal criteria which should include:

As per your query regarding internship, I would suggest you:
1. Shortlist the companies where you wish to pursue internship.
2. Once selected you may then contact the HR department of these companies either through email or phone and enquire if they prefer interns.
3. If they prefer, you may then ask for exact eligibility criteria and application process and accordingly you may apply.
As you wish to pursue MBA in finance in future so you may look for companies in the field of:
- Banking.
- Wealth management.
- Stock broking.
- Forex management, etc.

GATE preparation :
1. Always follow standard books for GATE. Try to cover complete syllabus. If not possible expertise in what ever portion of syllabus you practice.
2. Try preparing notes after reading every chapter/topic. This may initially take some time but will help you while revising before paper.
3. While reading any chapter/topic do ask your self following questions "What", "How", and "Why" and see improvement
4. Best way to prepare is to follow cycle Learn, Test, Analyze, Improve, Learn, Test, Analyze, Improve …
5. Look at GATE Cutoff and eligibility section to know eligibility and cut off of various colleges.
6. Group study is one of the best ways of preparation. Divide sections/topics between you and your partner and have a brief session on topic from your friend before you actually start topic.
7. Normally coaching GATE is not required but if you are not able to concentrate much then this is a good option.
