See I think engineering college should be chosen based on its course content, faculty strength and backup and most importantly on its ability to give campus recruitment to past students. Just shortlist colleges on these criteria. Ask previous year pass out students how many companies came their for campus recruitment, how many got jobs etc. Then make the decision to join a college. Your rank is really more than what it could take for a top level polytechnic colleges. Why don't you go top a better hons level engineering college like B.Tech colleges or colleges offering BCA, rather than going for a moderate or low end polytec
