The previous respondent has drawn a good comparison between PGDM and MBA.
I would further elaborate on PGDBF, which stands for Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Finance. This is a UGC recognized 1 year diploma program which provides a bridge between academic and Banking & Financial services industry.
Regarding a comparison, if you want a quick transition to job PGDBF will help you save a year. However, if you can spare 2 years than an MBA will enable you to raise to higher profiles in the long run.
Hope that would have given you a good insight. Feel free to seek further clarification on this forum.
