Hello Lavi,
It's totally dependent on your category because if you are from general category then it's a no. If you are from OBC-NCL then also still no. If you are from SC/ST, you can get a low ranked NIT with a civil branch. If you are from PWD, then yes in any NIT or IIIT of your choice with your favorite branch.

Hello Ganesh,
You need to apply for a single window counseling program under Anna University called TNEA. If you belong to TN or if you are a TN native student, then you can apply under regular admission. Otherwise, if you are an other state student, then you need to apply under other state admissions. The admission is based on your board exam scores.

B.Sc in life sciences:
This degree is a good undergraduate degree but not favored by most of the people due to the limited opportunities available to the students after finishing their degree. I have a lot many friends who have done B.Sc in biotechnology and other courses like B.Sc in biology, zoology, biochemistry, botany and many more.
