B.Sc in life sciences:
This degree is a good undergraduate degree but not favored by most of the people due to the limited opportunities available to the students after finishing their degree. I have a lot many friends who have done B.Sc in biotechnology and other courses like B.Sc in biology, zoology, biochemistry, botany and many more. All of them have to go for Masters in life sciences and then further Ph.D. and furthermore, the population of students who are doing life sciences courses is increasing because most students are not able to get MBBS, BDS, BPT, BOT and other clinical courses.
Thus there are lots of unemployed graduates with life science degree, they are resorting to school teaching jobs and clerical jobs but now those fields have also reached saturation. What are the few advantages? Students who are inclined towards the Biology courses are more comfortable as they are learning what they like. They tend to do these courses and side by side after that prepare for MBA as they know that they don't have many job opportunities just with B.Sc. As you told that you have got a good college for B.Sc. Then you can get that good tag name with you while preparing for other exams for management, or UGC NET. If you are good in studies and get good guidance then you will be able to get top notch universities abroad as well. Now I will tell about my field of specialisation that is biomedical engineering.
Biomedical engineering: This field is related to the application of all fields of engineering in Healthcare. I have seen that students who don't get admission in the medical fields are more interested in human physiology and human anatomy, which has driven their interests towards the medical field. Biomedical Engineering gives you a chance to drive a technical solution faced by the humans in their physiological processes. And you will be working related to human body
Biomedical Engineering as an undergraduate discipline in any of the IITs and only IIT Madras offers a B.Tech in Engineering Design with M.Tech in Biomedical engineering. Biomedical engineering is in two NIT's. So all the undergraduate colleges in biomedical are at the same level. It will depend on the way you study Biomedical Engineering will determine how you will do in this field.
