MBA in Production Management is a good course to pursue and it offers good career prospects and excellent growth opportunities.
Production Managers should be well-equipped with technical aspects of the production process along with extra-ordinary management skills.
There are numerous job openings for production managers as a result of the rapid growth of manufacturing and services sectors.
Job prospects are quite better for candidates having B.E/B.Tech degree along with MBA (production management).
Production Managers can seek employment with a variety of manufacturing industries such as automobiles, engineering goods, heavy machinery, iron-steel and other metal industries, chemical and fertilizer etc.

After completing diploma in Mechanical engineering you may join lateral B.Tech course in the related field.
To be eligible, you need to score minimum aggregate of 60% marks in the diploma course. You need to sit for Lateral Entry Entrance Test or LEET which is conducted at state level. Some colleges and Universities too conduct their own lateral entry tests.
