As per your query, yes you can definitely know your aptitude by sitting for various competitive exams for which minimum eligibility required is class Xth. These might help you decide your future career option. You can opt for NTSE (National Talent Science Exam by Unified Council), Macmilan, Olympiad or ASSET (Assessment of Scholastic Skills Though Educational Testing). All these are held on national or state levels to judge the caliber of students and help them move into correct direction.

A potentiometer is a device to measure potential difference across a conductor on the basis of null point.
Principle of Potentiometer: It's based on Ohm's law i.e. V=IR V= I rho l/A [ R= rho l/A]V is directly proportional to l, when I, rho & A are costantSo, V= Kl [K is constant of P.meter]
P.meter doesn't draw any current from the cell when zero deflection is observed as such it is more accurate than a voltmeter.It is used to measure internal resistance also , potential difference between two points, emf.
V.meter:Its working is based on deflection method, it always draws some current from the circuit, so it measures less than actual potential. It is use to measure potential difference only.

Eligibility
The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent
CGPA (in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe
(ST) and Differently Abled (DA) category

as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent
qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor's
Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum
of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or
equivalent.
There is no condition on 12th marks. However weightage is given to 10th, 12th and graduation marks for final selection alongwith essay and PI and curricular activities.
