Yes. You can get admission in government engineering colleges in Maharashtra through MHT CET. In fact, this is the only method of admission in Maharashtra not only for government colleges but for private colleges also.

By your question I assume that you are still in high school, in that case you might not be able to analyze yourself with respect to mechanical field.
