GRE is a test which need to be taken by students who wish to pursue masters degree in science and engineering fields from universities in US.

Well IT is a wide stream offering various streams under which one can pursue a career as per is interest. Streams like Hardware, Networking, Database, Security, Software etc are te field you can look to take up in future.
There are several short term/ certificate courses available in these fields and as I assume that you do not have any exposure to IT or programming, I suggest you to opt for courses in Hardware networking (CCNA, CCNP), Security (like ethical hacking), Database (like oracle based certifications).

As said by @krishna katti , writing and qualifying exams for premier govt. services are one of the good options to go with, if your are keen to take a up job. But if you are looking forward to further education, there are ample of options available to you as per your desire and career aspirations.
One could be opting for M.Sc in the subject based on your education background, interest and capability. After which you can look up UGC NET / PET exams for PhD and career in lectureship.
Other way would be if you are looking forward to change your stream, then you may opt for management field by taking up MBA degree from a reputed institute
