Difficult to predict Cat cutoff score but 85+ would be on safer side since Bits considers cat score as well as overall profile.

For MBA in Australia you need to appear for IELTS and get score of minimum 6.5 each. also i suggest to apply for atleast 2 universities. Now you will get admission in January batch as admission for June batch is already over.
Alternatively you can join some credit transfer program in india which means that half of the degree in india and second half in abroad, and finally you will get degree of abroad university. One of my frd is doing MBA in Lovely Professional University and now he is going abroad in 2nd year to completed his degree.

Both are good, it is difficult to say which one is better.in both you will get good placement.
Ranking is done on various parameters. check following link:http://www.thapar.edu/images/ranking/Overall Rank.pdf
http://www.collegekhabar.com/ranking/2012/PEC-Chandigarh-vs-Thapar-Patiala
If i would be at your place i choose PEC as its location is good. Also it is a Deemed University where as Thapar is Private university.
Other then this placement in GNDU and Lovely Professional university are also excellent, and in lovely university you will grow like anything and there u will get good scholarship too.

The scores you have received are low to secure a seat in an NIT. I suggest you explore other college options you have available where admission can be secured using JEE Mains rank.

If u belong to general category there is no chance at all. But on the basis of ur category there may be chances of getting some good institutes. U should regularly check the official websites of JOSSA and JEE and see the counsel ling schedules. There are chances that in 3nd or 4th round u will get good colleges otherwise u can also try in some of the following colleges:-
1.MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore
2.Babu Banarasi Das, Lucknow
3. Lovely Professional University

I am not very sure regarding the ranks with respect to reservations. But, with a rough idea I believe it would be very difficult for that rank to secure a seat in NITs.

Suresh, I am not sure how good you are with maths and programming. If you are, then you must pick up Programming and take a language whether PHP/ HTML5 (web dev), .Net (for software dev) Java/ Android (for apps) or C#/ Unity (for games). However like i mentioned, you must be good with programming to move ahead in this area since you have to compete with MCAs and BTech(CS) applicants. So choose your internship/ industrial training very carefully. Do not just go for the cheapest to save money. See the IT company's credentials on the net. for example if someone provide LIVE PROJECTS are they there near the TOP on PORTALS like JUSTDIAL? Or

Hi Mallika, I see that like many others, you too are confused with CS and IT. Most students consider both of them to be almost the same. However, the difference arises right from the third year. IT deals mostly with software engineering whereas CS covers both Software Engineering and Hardware Engineering.
Hence, with CS, you have more number of papers to take care of, but, you definitely get a priority during placements. Rest all depends on your dedication, your skill set and the marks you can achieve. All the best!
