You can pursue courses in parallel and there are a lot of options as i am listing below the most prominent ones from the job point of view:
1. Java/J2EE - The server side software development of web is mostly done by this most secure language option. Most of the banks in India and abroad implement their web applications using Java/J2EE only. Appear for SCJP exam after you learn core java.
2. Oracle/Mysql/DB2/DBA - This is one of the most reliable course options but you will not get any work of software development on its basis, yet you can continue doing it if you have interest in DBMS.
