Photography is a good starting point but a rare end point though, you must look at the entire field of media. There are several careers in media in writing, production or post production.
-You can become a reporter, actor or getting behind the camera to direct, cinematograph or do finishing work as an editor, compositor or a VFX artist who can add reality to 3D visualizations.
-You may even be a graphic artist who designs the screens, or an animator who brings stories to life as a proxy actor for onscreen characters. You can get into production, whether live or animated.
-You can be a story writer who writes for live and anim

Most of the colleges have different provision. You need to contact the Institute officials personally for specific details as it differs from one college to another. You may also speak with your HOD (Head of Department) if they can re-consider your case.

We have 3 steps in admission procedure at IFIM.
First is ICAT , next essay writing and last is interview
There is no GDPI round but its advisable to be prepared for it anytime.
Be thorough with current affairs.
