By doing this, you will get a clear idea about the exam syllabus and pattern. When appearing for the interview, you must make sure that they answer correctly. Taking some time for answering each question will also be a good idea.
You can set a proper learning plan for the test. Equal importance must be given for all subjects. Revision should be done frequently for attaining better result. It is advisable to go for mock tests regularly. This will help one to find out the mistakes. It is good to go through the last year question papers.

Hi Jagdish, scope of merchant navy in India is very promising one. The number of ship and cruise are increasing, also private giants are investing crores in ports and sea trade.
There is a boom in this sector with handsome salary package.
You can enter it right after your 12 (PCM) after completing 1 year pre-sea training as a deck cadet.
After completing B.Sc.(Nautical Science) in the officer cadre which will lead you to become captain after 5-7 years of experience.
You can also join it directly after B.Tech in marine engineering, mechanical, electrical, electronics & telecommunication, naval architect.
Except marine engineering candidates, others have to undergo a 10 months pre-sea training which is offered by many institute and port trusts or recruitingcompany itself. After that you will be appointed as a 5th or junior engineer. It will take you 5-7 years depending in your own abilities for becoming 'chief engineer'.
