You must hold a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Since German universities are so competitive you must have very high academic grades. GRE or GATE is not mandatory but you can choose to take the tests. As an international student you must also take TOEFL or IELTS. German language knowledge will definitely help.
