Hi,
**
To take admission in Merchant Navy, you need to pass 12th in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) with 1 year pre-sea training as a deck cadet.
You can also join it directly after B.Tech in marine engineering, mechanical, electrical, electronics & telecommunication, naval architect.
If you pursue B.Sc (Nautical Science) in the officer cadre, it will lead you to become captain after 5-7 years of experience.
Except marine engineering candidates, others have to undergo a 10 months pre-sea training which is offered by many institute and port trusts or recruiting company itself. After that you will be appointed as a 5th or junior engi

Sir you are sadly mistaken and being misguided. Its not so. Only students who have 70% or more in 12th can get direct admission in B.Techs or other Honours courses otherwise they have to give a test and clear it in order to get admissions in these courses. Same is the case with other courses too where the admission criteria is different for different course. You should check the website www.lpu.in or call on toll free no.01824: 404484 for clarifying all your doubts.

There is admission through test or direct admission. If you have good percentage in 12th like 70% and above then you can also take direct admission in some reputed private university like LPU, SRM etc where you can also get scholarship on the basis of your 12th percentage. In case you have less than 70% marks then you can give their test and get admission. Check their websites and call on their toll free no.s.
