There are few aspects I would like you to ponder upon. When you say a
1. "career" in the field of psychology: psychology is very vast. Identify your area of interest such as clinical, organisation, counselling, academic, etc. Think all the aspects (pros and cons; your aptitude,etc) in the area you plan to choose.
2. "abroad and India": for abroad, identify the country where you wish to work because every country has different rule and guidelines while recruiting an individual and also every countries educational requirement also differs.
Now for clinical practice, it would be advisable if you could get yourself involved with a psychiatric clinical set-up where you may gain clinical experience for Case work-up's, assessment, therapy, etc. You may also do an internship at such places.
If you wish to practice individually, then you may need license or recognition from RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India)

Check the websites of at least a few of these universities: Nitte University, Mangalore, Jamia Millia, SIMC, Pune, Manipal University. See when their entrance tests are going to be held. Before that check the faculty and fees. Satisfy yourself. Sometimes the university may be a big name but the faculty who actually teach are too old to stand up or below par OR may be very young and former students with little or no experience. You need to have faculty somewhere in the middle with good mix of field and academic experience and recognized work. If you are looking for a PG Degree there's no point in applying for ACJ and MASCOM which are very good but don't offer a degree. So you can't pursue higher studies in India and call yourself a postgraduate.
Next download their forms and read their application brochures carefully as well as the websites. Call their faculty or Heads and talk to them. Ask them the questions that bother you. For instance in most universities PG syllabus is set as if the student has already completed Bachelor's in Mass commn. Some make it so easy that there is no depth that may allow specialisation. So ask questions and clarify. I am told Jamia and Nitte have done a good job in curriculum design.
Your percentage is low so it is important to reserve a seat early if a good college is offering you a seat under any quota. (Some colleges have NRI / management quota).
