Well definitely IIM can not be compared. If you can get through their process you should go there otherwise in my opinion LPU is also good in all the aspects. At the time of counselling, you have to pay a demand draft of 2,10,000/- only which includes the counselling fee of 10000/-.
If you don't want the admission then you can ask for refund. So, that they will refund it based on the refund policies they have.

Work experience is not required for MS programs. If you have experience it will be a value add but its not compulsory. So, there is nothing to worry about. Your profile is decent, for maximising admission prospects a very strong SOP and LORs would be required. Please take your IELTS if you haven't. Knowledge of German language will be again a value add.

Mechanical engineering is best in B.Tech if you want to do aeronautical then you can go for mechanical for Bachelors and then aeronautical in Masters. You will have both the degree with two different courses.
