Hello Karthik,
As per your marks, there are really low chances to get a good NIT. I think your rank will be around 1.5 lakhs-2.5 lakhs.
So even if you get admission in NIT it will not be a top one. You may get NIT-Agartala, Meghalaya, Sikkim, etc., they are not equal to top NITs like Trichy, Warangal, etc.
As the official cut-off ranks have not been released you may refer to the link below that gives you the closing and opening ranks for 2016 to check your possibility:
http://josaa.nic.in/Result2016/result/OpeningClosingRank.aspx
You have cleared JEE Mains so there are some chances for you to get admission in NIT.

It's totally depends upon you, but please make sure that whether you choose engineering or medical, you must not regret about the choice you made, so I advice you to choose according to your interest. Neither engineering is bad nor medical so don't think that if you become an engineer you are superior than medical graduates and vice versa. Both of them have there own importantance to the society. Be wise and yes you may discuss with your parents/mentors, if and only if you feel comfortable to do so.

Hi,
How are you?
You may prefer Shiksha college predictor.
In our country, people truly believe on IITs and NITs for B.Tech and placement.
But, due to downfall, these are also losing its position.
Apart from these, some private college are BITS, SRM, NIRMA, VIT, SKIT Jaipur, UPES Dehradun and LPU are getting higher value.
Well, there, you may get good environment.
A peaceful decorum and high placement records
Thanks for asking. All the best

GD has general topics and that needs only your presence of mind and understanding of such topics. Daily reading of current affairs can also help to give some examples during the GD. PI is taken on your past profile, what you did, what you are doing and what you are capable of doing. Having cognizance of the things around you is an important thing.
