Indian IT industry is in slow decline phase because of outcry against outsourcing in Western countries and increasing restrictions on working visas. Therefore, quantum of fresher recruitment is slowly decreasing. Most of hiring in IT companies is by campus placement. Any candidate who does not get job in campus placement faces lot of challenges. If you do B.Tech CSE from Engineering colleges which have poor campus placement records then you may struggle to find a good job. Therefore, you must choose your college after due diligence.

If you feel you have enough potential and scores to get into the government institutes then wait patiently for the counselling. If you have a doubt then you can get admission in a private college allocated first. Decide and secure a seat in a private college then participate in the counselling process for government colleges and if you get one leave the private college seat.
But be careful, choose a college that will refund your payments once you opt to switch to a government college.
Good luck.
